A Day to Remember

Thank you.  That is my message of the day.

We had the Remembrance Day ceremony at school today.  Mark did a beautiful introduction of just how wars and peacekeeping missions have been a part of the lives of people at our school.  We used Adam Taggart's video, the new 2009 version, to create a sense of duty and understanding to those who watched it.  I spoke about Grandpa and had a student, Eric, read one of Grandpa's letters.

It was a perfect ceremony.  Mom, Dad and Kelly were able to attend, along with Eric's Mom and Grandma.  We were so blessed to have so many people tell us afterwards that they were moved by the images and the words.  Even though I did break down at the podium, the 400+ people in the caf could not have been more quiet and respectful throughout the ceremony.

Thank you Eric. Thank you Honey Baby.

Thank you Grandpa.
